Samsung’s chief has confirmed that the plan to release the Galaxy Note 8 down the road, is still on. And the code name for the phablet has been leaked. Coming from Twitter, the leak shows the codename of the Galaxy Note 8 to be ‘BAIKAL.’
The image in the tweet that shows the leak has a stylus. And the most interesting thing in the picture are the crystals present in it. This might suggest that Samsung is going to release a accurate color model for the Galaxy Note 8.
As for the model name, we aren’t sure if the manufacturer is going to call it after the Note7, as Galaxy Note 8 or change it to Note 9.
There have been many rumors regarding the Note 8, one of them being that it will have a 4K display. A specification sheet of the Galaxy Note 8 was also leaked from China. It showed that Samsung was working on not just one but two high-end Exynos chipset variants with different processor clock speeds.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will pack Exynos SoC Processor and Shannon 359 modem
It is likely that the Galaxy Note 8 comes with a more powerful Exynos SoC version that will allow a more powerful GPU to be packed. It is also expected that the Galaxy Note 8 will come equipped with the Shannon 359 modem. And if that happens it will make the smartphone a very powerful one. This modem will provide support for almost all network basebands, from all around the globe. These will be FDD-LTE, TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000, CDMA and GSM.
All these spectacular upgrades mean that the Note 8 will be costlier than its predecessor. As for now we can sit back and wait for more details regarding the Note 8. As of now, we know that the Note lineup is alive, but its codename needs confirmation.
