Pinterest has introduced three new visual discovery tools that will help the user find more ideas. Now the users will be able to use whatever they see, whether in the physical world or on Pinterest to discover products. “Using new visual discovery technology, now we have even more ways for people to find products and ideas they want to try,” said Pinterest’s Tim Kendall in a blog post.

The new Shop, the Look tool on Pinterest, lets the users track down and then buy the things the find in fashion or home decor Pins. Users have to tap the circle on the items so that they locate the style they are looking for. To buy a product you can check them on Pinterest of buying directly from users.

The next new tools are the Lens tool. This tool is currently in the Beta version. It lets you turn products you find in real life into search.  “Now people can discover ideas without having to find the right words to describe them first,” says Kendall. This tool will use the user’s Camera app the look for an object in the real world. Then the user can point to an object, for example, a purse and then search for products in the similar style. It can even be used to find furniture of a particular kind or even the recipe of a food article. As mentioned in the blog post, this tool will get better with time and identify a wider range of objects.

The third tool introduced is Instant Ideas. It will let the users discover ideas inspired by the pins in their home feeds. A small circle will now appear on the pins when the user scrolls through their feed, that can be tapped on to see related ideas.

Let us know how you feel about the new tools introduced and how they will affect you in the comment sections.
