Skype Will Stop Working From First of March, Confirms Microsoft. Microsoft has recently announced that March 1st is the deadline for skype users

Sadly, Skype Will Stop Working From First of March, Confirms Microsoft. Microsoft has recently announced that March 1st is the deadline for its users to switch to the latest version of Skype desktop as the older version will stop working from then on.

This stopping of the older version of Skype comes as a part of the decision to switch to a more modern architecture for the VoIP platform, that will support many features such as video message saving, cloud file sharing, and a mobile group calling.

The clients that were affected by this will be the ones that are using Windows and Mac. Microsoft said that the only way to continue using this service without any interruption will be by updating Skype to its latest version.“Because we want to provide our users with the best possible Skype experience, necessary changes must be made along the way. So, beginning March, users running older versions of Skype for Windows desktop (7.16 and below) or Skype for Mac (7.0 to 7.18) will no longer be able to sign in. if you’re one of those users, all you will need to do is download the new update,” Microsoft explains.

As far as Windows 10 users are concerned this decision by Microsoft to terminate the older versions of Skype wouldn’t affect them much as the operating system already comes with built-in Skype preview universal app.

To sum it all, Microsoft cannot be blamed for deciding to kill off the older versions of Skype as the company is always moving on to new and improved infrastructure that facilitates the inclusion of new and exciting features in their services.

Go and update Skype on your computers, for the deadline is near. And let us know in the comments how this decision affects you and how you feel about it.
