Google Photos is a secret jewel of the Google service. It provides you a way to store the pictures on your camera phone online. And now it is bettering its service with a new and exciting update.
Before the upgrade, Google Photos app had very few options when it came to settings such as saturation and contrast. But now with the new update, the users also have an Auto White Balance option to manage their pictures. The update is available for Android Google Photos app and Web OS App for desktops. It will later roll out for iOS App too.
Google Photos App New Updated Features
To avail the new feature, the users will have to update their Google Photos app. In some phone you will get a notification the update is available for your phone, you can select that to update your app. Or you can manually check on App Store and update your Google Photos app.
As the app roll out takes place in phases, it takes some time to reach all the corners of the world. So you need not worry if the update isn’t available for you. It will reach you soon enough.
Once the Google Photos app is updated, it will not only let you fix the exposure and saturation of the images in your camera roll but it will automatically adjunct the white balance of the pictures. Once you use the apps ‘Looks’ it will automatically adjust the white balance of your picture too. Jingyu Cui, the software engineer for Google Photos, explained looks in a November 2016 blog post:
“These unique looks make edits based on the individual photo and its brightness, darkness, warmth, or saturation, before applying the style. All looks use machine intelligence to complement the content of your photo, and choosing one is just a matter of taste.”
If you want to edit or adjust your image a bit more, you can go to ‘Colors’ option and adjust the ‘Warmth’ and ‘Tint’ of your image.
