Google accounts are an important part of all smartphone activities. Not being able to access them poses a lot of trouble to the user. Since yesterday a lot of users have reported that they are unavailable to use their Google account. This issue was published in the US as well as Europe. Google, however, confirmed that this isn’t due to some hack or malicious activity.
Google is aware of this issue and has responded to the situation. The firm has posted on Google Play support page that if the user has been logged out of their account, they can log in using their username and password at https://accounts.google.com. And if the user has forgotten their password or can not login to their Google account then they can go to a link to recover their account. Google also said that its support agents are unable to fix password related issues due to some reason.
Google gave the following statement at Android Central
“We’ve gotten reports about some users being signed out of their accounts unexpectedly. We’re investigating, but not to worry: there is no indication that this has connected to any phishing or account security threats.
Please try to sign-in again at accounts.google.com, and if you cannot remember your password, please use this link (g.co/recover) to recover your password. If you use 2-Step Verification, there may have been a delay in receiving your SMS code. Please try again or use backup code.”
Down Detector states that the issue is still present but not on such a large scale as earlier. The users need not worry as this matter is not a result of some malicious activity. There is no need to change the account’s password as the Google accounts are secure.
Google also said the this is the issue that has been causing Google Wifi and OnHub products to reset themselves. Unfortunately, this means that the device has to be reset all over again. The process of resetting the device has given on the support page.
